नई दिल्ली अब देश के सुदूर इलाकों में की डिलीवरी ड्रोन से हो सकेगी। ने सोमवार को कहा कि उसने भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद () को अंडमान निकोबार द्वीपसमूह, मणिपुर और नागालैंड में वैक्सीन वितरण के लिए ड्रोन के इस्तेमाल को सशर्त मंजूरी दे दी है। मंत्रालय की ओर से जारी बयान में कहा गया कि आईसीएमआर को टीकों के वितरण के लिए 3,000 मीटर तक की ऊंचाई पर ड्रोन के इस्तेमाल की अनुमति दी गई है। दो दिन पहले, केन्द्रीय नागर विमानन मंत्री ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने तेलंगाना के विकाराबाद में अपनी तरह की पहली ‘मेडिसिन्स फ्रॉम द स्काई’ (आसमान से दवाएं) परियोजना शुरू की जिसके तहत ड्रोन की मदद से दवाओं और टीके की आपूर्ति की जाएगी। वक्तव्य में कहा गया कि भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (आईआईटी) मुंबई को भी अपने परिसरों में शोध, विकास एवं परीक्षण उद्देश्यों के लिए ड्रोन के इस्तेमाल सशर्त अनुमति मिली है। आईआईटी और आईसीएमआर, दोनों संस्थानों को ड्रोन नियम, 2021 के तहत सशर्त छूट दी गई है। इसमें बताया गया यह अनुमति मंजूरी मिलने के एक साल तक या अगले आदेश तक वैध होगी। मंत्रालय ने 25 अगस्त को ड्रोन नियमों को अधिसूचित किया था।
