नई दिल्ली सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सीबीआई से कहा है कि वह 1984 दंगे में उम्रकैद की सजा काट रहे सज्जन कुमार के हेल्थ कंडिशन के बारे में रिपोर्ट पेश करे। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सीबीआई से कहा है कि वह सज्जन कुमार के मेडिकल कंडिशन के बारे में अदालत के सामने 6 सितंबर तक हलफनामा दायर करे। पूर्व कांग्रेसी ने सज्जन कुमार ने खराब मेडिकल कंडिशन के आधार पर अंतरिम जमानत की मांग की है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पिछले साल 13 मई को सज्जन कुमार की अंतरिम जमानत की अर्जी को खारिज कर दिया था तब भी सज्जन कुमार की ओर से मेडिकल ग्राउंड पर जमानत की मांग की गई थी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा था कि एम्स की मेडिकल बोर्ड की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक सज्जन को अस्पताल में भर्ती होेने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। बाद में 4 सितंबर 2020 को भी मेडिकल ग्राउंड पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने राहत नहीं दी थी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट में सज्जन कुमार की ओर से सीनियर एडवोकेट विकास सिंह पेश हुए और कहा कि सज्जन कुमार की मेडिकल कंडिशन ठीक नहीं है और उन्हें प्राइवेट अस्पताल भर्ती कराए जाने की जरूरत है। तब सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि हम चाहत हैं कि सरकार की ओर से कोई मेडिकल कंडिशन का पता लगाए।
