कांग्रेस की 6 सदस्यीय समिति उत्तर-पूर्व के राज्यों का दौरा करेगी। यह समिति एनआरसी के मुद्दे पर वहां पैदा हुई स्थिति का आकलन करेगी। आकलन के बाद समिति एक रिपोर्ट तैयार करेगी जो पार्टी आलाकमान को सौंपी जाएगी। असम में एनआरसी लागू किये जाने के बाद से ही कांग्रेस, सरकार को घेर रही है। एनआरसी की आंतिम सूची 31 अगस्त 2019 को जारी की गई। जिसमें 3,11,21,004 लोगों को इसमें शामिल किया गया है। जबकि 19,06,657 लोगों को एनआरसी के बाहर रखा गया है।
